Silver Dollar City

Silver Dollar City, located just outside Branson, Mo, is a family vacation destination. Combining a wholesome, family oriented amusement park with a 1880's themed craft village, Silver Dollar City has been entertaining folks since 1960. For many families it has become an annual treat of shows, rides, festivals, craftsmen and food.
What makes Silver Dollar City such a great place to visit? Throughout its season, which runs April to December, families and individuals will find plenty of entertainment choices. Lets explore four great reasons you should visit the park.
Unlike many tourist destinations, Silver Dollar City changes throughout it's operating season. The season begins with World-Fest, a celebration of international diversity. May brings Bluegrass and BBQ, a wonderful combination of American music and food. June, July and early August is National Kids fest, the perfect time to be a kid or kid at heart. Late August into early September features the Southern Gospel Picnic. Enjoy music from the nation's biggest gospel artists. Beginning in mid September and lasting through October is National Harvest Festival time. Hundreds of the nation's craftsmen return to Silver Dollar City to celebrate their crafting heritage. November and December welcomes everyone home to an Old Fashion Christmas. Nationally acclaimed as one of the nation's best holiday experiences, an Old Fashion Christmas is a must see event. Illuminated by over 4 million lights, Silver Dollar City is a magical holiday adventure .
A large variety of rides, musical shows, craftspeople, fantastic food and the ever changing festivals provide the Silver Dollar City visitor new reasons to return time after time. I have been there in 2003 .
